Japanese now has 12 real Tokyo scenes, replies included
Japanese joins China, Da Nang and Taiwan with real conversations: from Haneda airport to the konbini till, a ramen ticket machine and an izakaya.
What you can do now
- 12 scenes and 100 lines, each with what you say, what staff say back, romaji to read out and audio.
- The konbini scene covers the questions every cashier asks: do you want a bag, shall I heat it up, chopsticks, points card.
- Notes where the textbook and real life differ, like "toriaezu nama" to start an evening, "daijōbu desu" as a polite no, and why nobody says sayōnara.
- Each scene has its own page that answers the question people search for, like "What does the convenience store cashier in Japan ask you?".
- The Japanese trip guide, pocket card, drills and Smart practice all use the new scenes.
Why we made this change
Tokyo scenes were top of the roadmap, because there is more evidence for them than for anything else on it. Bangkok is next.
